IAIN Manado Strengthens International Cooperation and Signs MoU with Irbid National University, Jordan

iainmanado.official- IAIN Manado continues to expand its international cooperation. On September 4, 2024, a significant step was taken with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IAIN Manado and Irbid National University, Jordan. The MoU was signed directly by the Rector of IAIN Manado, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Rajafi, M.H.I, and the President of Irbid National University, Professor Dr. Majed M. Abu-Zreiq.

The event was organized by the Event Organizer, Associate Professor Dr. Sabbar Dahham Sabbar, Dip., B. Sc. Pub. Adm., M. BA., and Dr. Anas Mosleh Marzoq Al-Mhasnah, as the event facilitators, along with the team from the Rosy City for Educational Services and Consultations.

This collaboration covers various aspects of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, including student and faculty exchanges, community service programs (Kuliah Kerja Nyata or KKN), and other community service initiatives. With the signing of this MoU, both institutions aim to strengthen each other and make tangible contributions to education and research on an international level.

The Rector of IAIN Manado, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Rajafi, M.H.I., stated that this partnership is essential in enhancing the quality of education at IAIN Manado. “The collaboration with Irbid National University opens up great opportunities for students and faculty to gain international experience. This aligns with IAIN Manado’s mission to build educational, research, and community service partnerships with both government and private sectors, domestically and internationally,” said Prof. Ahmad Rajafi.

At the same event, the Vice-Rector for Student and Partnership Affairs, Dr. Mastang Ambo Baba, M.Ag., who accompanied the Rector in signing the MoU, added, “We hope this cooperation will bring tangible benefits not only to both universities but also to the wider community through the community service programs that will be implemented.”

The event received special attention and support from the Indonesian Embassy in Amman, represented by Mr. Alamsyah, the Head of Social and Cultural Affairs, and several officials from the Indonesian Embassy in Amman. In addition, other State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKN) also participated in the agreement activities, such as IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo, IAIN Metro, IAIN Kerinci, UHN I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa Denpasar, IAIN Ternate, and IAIN Palopo. The Rector of IAIN Manado delivered a public lecture at Irbid National University on The Position of IAIN Manado on Cultural Diversity and Religious Moderation in Indonesia.

Through this event, IAIN Manado continues to demonstrate its commitment to strengthening its position as an educational institution capable of competing internationally. (Adm/AF)
